Truthfully, the only reason I bought these awful movies was for the incredible locations that I remember from them. I was hoping that getting the DVD would help me uncover the mystery. True, most of the exterior shots are enhanced by matte paintings, but what remains in the foreground are still some awesome locations. (Keep in mind most of the photos on here are matte-painting enhanced) What I've found so far is that the majority of both movies was filmed in Marin County, CA. Even better, it appears that much of this is on public land accessible by biking/hiking trails. The credits of the film reveal the following locations used for filming: Marin County Open Space DistrictThese are all publically accessible lands in Marin Cty. www.marinopenspace.org/It appears that "Roy's Redwoods" was specfically used for the 1st film. Whether or not this was all the forest scenes, I don't know. San Geronimo Golf Coursewww.globalstore.com.au/geronimo.htm5800 Sir Francis Drake Blvd San Geronimo, CA 94963 I'm guessing it was used for these types of scenes: San Geronimo Archery RangeCan't find any info for this one... Basalt Rock QuarryFrom what I've found, there's one by San Luis Reservoir: www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=558Probably used for these scenes: Dillingham Corporation? Mount Tamalpais State ParkAlso used for the motorcycle chase in Indy 3, though I'm not sure how they used it for this movie... Various locations that are probably somewhere in Marin County:
